Some people...

I don't understand how this is possible, but some people haven't seen Lost, and therefore just don't understand the passion of a Lost fan.

Vampire Pop Culture

Megan: Have you gotten to Pop Candy yet?
9:03 AM Mallory: not yet
almost
9:04 AMMegan: Well, let me just say 2 minute Twilight trailer, and I have thoughts
Mallory: New Twilight trailer??
OK, let me watch it...
9:05 AM Speaking of Twilight, I swear its taking over the world... I read Chris Carrabba's (of Dashboard Confessional) blog last night, and even he's reading that freaking book!
Megan: I saw that on your Twitter!
9:06 AM I'm convinced its popularity induced.
I'm hoping
9:07 AM An already popular entity among the younger girls says they're reading the books, and the said girls' hearts explode.
Mallory: yes
9:08 AM Well, I like the first 1 1/2 minutes of that trailer.
9:09 AM Megan: until she says "I'd rather die than live without you"
because when she said that i laughed out loud in my cubicle
Mallory: Yeah, the parts with minimal dialogue were fine
9:10 AM Megan: I agree. At first I thought, huh, this could be a pretty good movie. It looks well done, and everyone is pretty. Even the kissy parts don't seem half bad. In fact, they seemed pretty good.
Mallory: I think they were gearing that one more towards the "this is a fantastical story akin to HP and LOTR" audience.
9:11 AM Megan: Yeah. And then Bella opened her mouth and I got sucked back into the unavoidable reality: This movie was based on Twilight.
Mallory: Exactly
Megan: If I had never heard of the book, and saw this trailer, I would have been excited to see it.
On account of my unfortunate obsession with vampires.
Mallory: Me too.
Megan: I blame it on Buffy.
9:12 AM So, strike that.
I have an obsession with Buffy's hot vampire boyfriends.
I'm glad I've had that epiphany.
Mallory: However, I think I am fortunate in that I have very little problem with seeing books and movies as separate entities, so I hope I will be able to separate myself from it enough to at least enjoy the movie.= as a movie.
Haha!
Megan: I agree.
9:13 AM And unless they are heavy on the voice overs on Bella's part, I think I'll be okay.
Mallory: Me too
9:14 AM me: I also won't mind if Bella is more empowered. I don't think Kristin Stewart can make a believable ninny.
9:15 AM Mallory: That's true. Even from the trailers I think she seems like a stronger character than in the books.
me: Yeah.
9:16 AM I think it might go to show that our pal Stephanie may have picked the wrong venue to realize her, ahem, dream, or whatever.
She ought to have gone straight to screenplay.
And saved us all the trouble of ridiculous reading.
Mallory: Yes, I agree. I think the story will be more effective (and less nauseating) as a movie than a book
9:17 AM Well, I'd love to continue chatting about Twilight, but I've got a meeting to get to. I'll talk to you later, though.
me: Alright, have a good time.
Mallory: Thanks.
